McAfee has released India findings from a recent global study that aims to better comprehend how families’ attitudes and habits are evolving as their homes and lifestyles become increasingly connected.
According to New Family Dynamics in a Connected World, on average, adults spend an equal amount of time at home online as they do in interacting with others face-to-face.
Spending this amount of time online could be getting in the way of family relationships. In fact, approximately 35 percent of parents surveyed claimed that their child has called them out for being on their device during family time.

Other key findings include:
• 93 percent of Indian Parents admit to talking to their children about the dangers of Cyber-Criminals and Identity Theft.
• 84 percent of parents allow their child to bring an internet connected device to bed.
• 54 percent of Indian parents claim they have discovered that their child visited an inappropriate website, highest when compared to 13 other countries surveyed.
• 49 percent of Indian parents are concerned about their child potentially interacting with a social predator or cybercriminal online.
• More than half (57 percent) of parents allow their child to have 1-2 hours of screen time per day, and 20 percent allow their child less than one hour a day.
The findings clearly indicate that online activities of users across ages have been on the rise. This might turn to be a nuisance if not tackled properly.

The board of Snapdeal is expected to meet tomorrow to discuss the potential sale of India's third largest e-commerce firm to larger rival Flipkart. Also, on the agenda will be getting Nexus Venture Partners (NVP), an early investor in Snapdeal, to agree to the sale deal. The seven-member board of Jasper Infotech, which operates Snapdeal, includes representation from investors SoftBank, Kalaari Capital and Nexus Venture Partners (NVP), as well as co-founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal. The valuation of Snapdeal is believed to be one of the hurdles to the deal, as Kalaari and NVP were not in agreement with the valuation given by SoftBank, which is the largest shareholder in Snapdeal. SoftBank has now succeeded in getting Kalaari (another early-stage investor in Snapdeal) to agree but is yet to get NVP on board for the deal.
